illu 2005 - preparations (Part 1)

Hello Friends !!! Here I describe illu preparations in very concise manner.

Few weeks ago, in the evening it all started with loads of enthu and determination to celebrate this year's Diwali.


Here you see guys of our Hostel busy tying the diyas.



It's not that easy to count them, the number of diyas run in thousands. That's true, don't get surprised !!!!



Here you see the chatai (bamboo mat), on which the diyas are tied. See the guys at the bottom of the chatai. This gives an idea of chatai's height(10ft- 12ft high).

illu is one of the biggest event at KGP. Along with manpower it very much requires high quality management.



We need to climb tower of tables n chairs to reach the top of the chatais, though a bit risky it's all done with loads of tempo !!!



This is how the diyas are tied to the chatais, it needs lots of patience to tie each and every diya in proper order with 0% error.



The funda sessions, final yr. guys giving illu funda to the beginners.



Work + Fun = A deadly combo !!! That makes illu very much special to every KGPian.


One need not mention about the late night tea and snack.....it's YUMMY !!!
